They are editorial items of interest. These are the "news" which you see on the main page of the site. If you would like to submit an article for the site, you can click the Write Article link (members only) and write or copy and paste your article into the form provided. From there one of the site administrators will review it and then post it to the site. What are the forums?
It's an on-line message board where you can post questions and look for answers. Feel free to participate here. This is what our community is all about.
How do I use the Calendar?
We have a community calendar available for you to add events and schedule reminders for upcoming events to be sent to your e-mail address. Anyone may post a calendar item. It is added after review. Items may be one time events, or they may be recurring events. Just make sure there is enough information there for people to take part in your event. Submission guidelines are simply that these be events that the community members of the area are invited to. Garage sales, local sports, club activities, and the like are all welcome!
What are Local Links?
This is our on-line links database and referrals page. You may add a Local Link at any time. Just fill out the form and make sure you have either a website address or an e-mail address to put into the link. Once sumbitted they are reviewed before posting. Multiple submissions will be deleted and only one link will be approved. Once your link is approved you will be notified via e-mail.
All links have a hit counter showing how many visitors have clicked that link. Each link also has a rate and review option where you may rate a link on a 1-10 scale and then write a short review on why you entered that rating.
Can I add a classified ad?
Sure! It's free. You just need to sign in first. Only members may place classified ads.
What is the Photo Gallery for?
It's a place to share your pictures of things for sale, lanscaping you just had done, or a terrific sunset over our part of town.
Why should I sign up?
Signing in gives you access to more parts of the site. In general, guests can only read what is on the site, while members who sign in can contribute to the site by asking questions, uploading photos, placing an ad, and more. It is free to become a member and hopefully always will be free. Members who are interested in managing a site feature are encouraged to send an instant message to the admin, or use the contact form - this is a community site By Residents, For Residents - Take Part! Anybody can be a hater - be a giver and be part of the solution instead.
Why does it tell me I have new messages when I sign up?
We have an internal mail system at this site where members can e-mail other members. Once you log in, look at the box to the left marked "who's online?" You can click on the number of messages you have to get to your message area and read the messages. From there it is pretty much like a regular e-mail account with the exception that no mail is delivered outside of this site - it just goes to members and waits for them to log back in so they can view the message.
How Do I Change My Password?
After you sign in you will see your Profile Page. Near the bottom, there is a link to Edit your Profile. Click that link and you will see where you can change your password. While you are there, you can also add some information about yourself.
How Can I Promote My Company On The Site?
We are trying to avoid paid ads and banners on the site. However you can add your company to the Local Links section of the site for free. If you are willing to write an article or series of articles that would be informative to the visitors to the site, you may do so and add a little bit about your company in the article. However at least 75% of the article must be informative, and no more than 25% of the article can be self promotion.
